How it works
The SpeedDater website is split into three sections a conventional
online dating section, a speed dating section where you can search
for events you might like to atend and book your place and a Speed
Breaks section. The speeds days out and breaks that although they
do not have any set dating activities allow singles to meet and
join in some fun activities like cycling, walking etc.
Types of Speed Dating Events
SpeedDater organise various types of events. These include :
Speed Dating
When you arrive at a Speeddater event you see two SpeedDater hosts
wearing SpeedDater t-shirts. They sign you in, give you a scorecard,
a name badge and a pen, then invite you to have a drink at the bar.
Once everyone has arrived the SpeedDater host explains how speed
dating works and answers any questions. Then the dating begins.
Usually women will stay seated while men will rotate every three
minutes when the bell rings. After each date participants mark on
a scorecard whether they would like to see that person again. At
the end of the evening everyone takes their scorecards home with
them to enter their ticks online on the Speeddater website.
We found that most speed daters are professionals who want to meet
more people. They're generally normal, attractive people who just
aren't meeting people through their work or immediate circle of
friends
SpeedDater Guarantee SpeedDater guarantees that
you will meet someone you would like to see again at each SpeedDater
event. If you do not meet someone you would like to see again you
can come to another SpeedDater event free of charge.
The SpeedDater guarantee does not apply to special bigger ticket
events such as tennis weekends, skiing weekends and activity weekends
nor is it valid for SpeedDater Lock and Key Parties or SpeedDater
Balls or Singles parties. The SpeedDater guarantee remains valid
for three months.
Speeddater Lock and Key Parties
Lock and key parties are less formatted and more like a regular
party than Speeddater regular speed dating events. Women are given
a key and men are given a lock. You then circulate looking for people
who fit your lock or key. If you find a match you go back to the
registration desk to receive raffle tickets and be issued with a
new lock or key. Lock and key parties suit people who are comfortable
in a party situation. You are not guaranteed to meet everyone but
there is a chance to spend more than three minutes with people you
like.
Speeddater Special Events
Speeddater also run special themed events which are more like singles
parties at a variety of high class venues, including black tie events
and themed parties.
Speeddater Singles Holidays
Speeddater run a variety of holidays for single travellers include
skiing, snowboarding, tennis, sailing, diving, activity and adventure
holidays, short breaks and days out. Although there are no organised
dating events on these holidays they are a great way to meet other
singles in an easy athmosphere.
