Online Dating News & Interesting Facts

I was amused to read about how earlier this year the online dating site BeautifulPeople.com was booting off members they felt were over weight or not physically attractive enough to be a member. They apparently says it is a dating site for people who think looks matter, and therefore requires applicants to be approved by existing members of the site, by submitting a photo.

"Every year we see that some of our members from western cultures eat and drink to excess over the holidays and clearly their looks suffer," Greg Hodge, managing director of the site, said.

"Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded," added founder Robert Hintze.

Ha so there you have it its BeautifulPeople's opinion that if you gain a little weight you cannot be attractive !!!!

Another online dating site Singles 365 on hearing about this situation offered members who had been unceromoniously kicked of the vain site a free months membership on theirs.

Louise English of Singles 365 said: "We were shocked when we saw the news that an online dating site would kick off users for gaining weight.

"What happened to beauty being in the eye of the beholder? There is someone for everyone - shape, race, sex, religion, whatever - and we believe that online dating is about bringing people together, not giving them a complex."

Might be a clever ploy to get more members on Singles 365 good on them anyway.
