You can browse the profiles on FriendFinder before signing up or placing your own profile and the first thing you notice is the wide area this site covers. After you select whether your a man searching a woman or other alternatives you can select your Country. On my search t claimed to have 93,688 Men seeking Women in the UK and 26,103 Women seeking Men. You can then narrow the selection by choosing an age range and view the thumbnails and basic details but not the full details of profiles.

You are then invited to join FriendFinder for free which involves a relatively simple form filing exercise. Interestingly they ask you if you want to use the site for dating or meeting friends which I thought was a nice touch. The rest of the form is pretty standard, age, height a title line and description of yourself.

For Free on friendFinder you can edit your profile, enter the chat rooms and join in most community activities. the rules on Free members sending mails and viewing full profile details are a little complex. Free members on FriendFinder can send mails only to Premium members who have purchased standard contacts. Some standard members receive viewing privileges based on the popularity of their profile.

Once you have created your profile you are asked if you want to sign up to either Gold or Silver package.
Additional to the charge for these packages you can add optional items for extra cost.

FriendFinder is a well thought out site with lots of extra useful features. The fact that you can specify various types of relationships makes it great for people who may not be looking for conventional dating e.g. Penpals, friends In fact as the name suggests the site does seem to encourage a sense of community.

The Free Membership is a great way to get a feel of the site before you decide if you wish to commit to a paid subscription and although it is limited it allows enough for you to feel you are participating.
