Mingles may not be the most stylishly designed dating sites on
the Internet but it does boast a 100% free plan that knocks the
spots off most other free dating sites. More of a community dating
site really, mingles boasts two-way matchmaking, anonymous email,
photos and voice messages, forums, hotlists, and much more!
Signing Up to Mingles
Signing up to Mingles is straight forward. one thing I did find
a bit weak was the locations for UK members. When I was asked to
select a location near my home for distance matching I was given
only a few options, the nearest being hundreds of miles away. the
rest of the process only takes a few minutes.
Once you have confirmed your email you can log in and take a look
around the mingles Site. If you choose you can fill in your personal
profile in detail or leave it until later. A nice feature on mingles
is that you can choose to make contact on a friendship/penpal basis
if you are not looking for a relationship. it can be a great way
to make friends and broaden your social circle.
Search facilities are impressive. Allowing you to search by just
about any criteria, or you can try Match, which
displays the members who match your profile criteria, or
Mingle (Gold Members Only) which is like a search in reverse.
It shows you the members that are looking on Mingles for someone
like yourself.
Some of the images on the profiles are pretty poor quality but
the layout isn't bad, and you have to remember you are getting all
this for free, you can always ask the member for a better picture
because making contact is free too!

Mingles Conclusion
it is really quite amazing the features this site
gives for free. the price you pay for these free services is banner
and link adverts dotted around the site. these are not intrusive
however and if you really don't like them for $4.95 a month you
can upgrade to Gold Membership to remove them and add a few other
extra features. the membership database is huge and although the
site is based in the USa its membership is worldwide. |
