Our Match.com Review

Match.com was founded in 1995 and with its partnership with AOL offers a large database of members. It boasts many features including instant messaging, chat rooms and two way matching. the site is very attractive and offers some quite unique usability features. It is has Worldwide coverage and includes categories for Heterosexual, Gay, Lesbian relationships.

Signing Up to Match.com

Match.com offer a 3 day full trial which in principle seems a very good idea. You must however submit your credit card details to claim this trial and unless you cancel before the end of the third day you will be charged for the next month.

The sign up is I have to say like the rest of the site presented really attractively with co ordinated colours and easy to use selections. There are interesting options like the option to add more information to basic questions. e.g. What is your relationship status? You get the standard selections Single, in a relationship or married, but you then have the option to add from a drop down box more information eg.. Several Committed relationships but now single. the questions are quite thorough asking about body art, and what you consider your best point, with some of the optional answers quite witty.

The sign up at Match.com does take quite long time if you choose to answer all questions but most are optional so you can return to them later. once you register you can go to your own personal page that has options to add information you have missed out or edit/add photos. You cannot complete registration for this site without providing credit card details even for the 3 day trail.

Another nice feature on Match.com is the Send a Wink. With this feature you can show other members you are interested in them for free and see if they feel the same way.

Match.com Conclusion

Match.com is the nicest looking site we have reviewed so far. Every detail has been well thought out to be efficient and attractive. It has lots of features that make it fun to use and you can use it to make friends as well as form relationships. It has keyword search that works very well if you are careful how you use it, and the chat and winks are a great extra.

There are some annoyances though like the fact there is no real free service to try out without submitting credit card details and extra charges for some features like viewing video and sms messaging.
