Our Love and Friends Review
Love and Friends is a UK based Dating site with a nice selection
of predominantly UK profiles. They claim they aim to provide a service
for professional people. At the time of this review they claimed
43,000 members. The site itself is not at all like your usual online
dating site. It has cartoon style graphics and a very simple,almost
spartan feel.
One of the things I liked straight away about Love and Friends
was how transparent the web site is. You can have a look at profiles,run
a search by area and get a little bit of a feel for the sight without
even entering your email.
Sign Up
Signing up for Love and Friends is very simple. After adding your
basic details, including username and email, you can choose whether
you want to subscribe or try out the free membership. I opted for
the Free membership first to get an idea of what was on offer.
Once you have chosen your membership type you can go on to fill
in your profile. It does take a while but you can skip bits until
later if you prefer. You do however have to fill in the description,
they call these sections 'the wordy stuff'. There seems a lot of
this in Love and Friends and it actually makes viewing the profiles
more interesting later.
When you have filled in the descriptive parts on Love and Friends,
you can move on to the compatibility questions, these are easier
because you just need to tick boxes. Some of the questions on this
section I found impressive, like whether or not you would meet without
a photograph or do you always reply to emails ,on a first date you
prefer, a handshake, a kiss etc. In fact i felt the questions on
this section really got down to the nitty gritty of your attitude
to relationships far better than a lot of the more established and
pro sites.
Once you finish...finally ! I have to say, that despite the profiles
being laid out without any panache and the fact it took quite a
while to fill in all the questions, i was so impressed reading the
profiles i almost forgot to carry on writing the review.The extra
effort put into the questions makes really interesting reading and
there are some nice features like the ability to view your compatibility
percent and to see what questions you matched on.
As a free member you can email other members but this is limited
per day to an amount that is dependant on the other persons membership
as well as your own. You can send an E-card, smiley and add people
to your favorites. There are also social activities arranged called
'party meets'on Love and Friends . You can take a look at photos
from some of the past events, and there's an active forum.
If you decide to sign up for a full membership at Love and Friends
you get :

messages. Send as many messages as you want. Keep your messages
as long as you want. Read Receipts - find out if/when your message
is read. Loads more E-cards Conversation screen - compose a message
as you review your entire previous conversation with a member or
look at their profile. +++

Search on any combination of criteria. Keyword searching (e.g. find
skiers, dancers, Guardian readers, opera lovers, doctors, etc.).
Advanced geographic searching. +++
PHOTOS: Upload loads
more photos. Have a private photo on the site. Attach your private
photo on messages to members. Access all photos immediately (i.e.
not have to wait a week for them to be approved by 'admin' staff).
Email/post your photo to us and get us to sort it out (instead of
struggling with scanners/Photoshop). +++
POWERFUL INFO: Find
out who has marked you as a favorites. Find out who the new members
are first. View and contact new members immediately (i.e before
admin staff approves their profile). Change your Username. +++
MATCHING. Find out
how compatible you are -our computer compares Matching Criteria
and Questionnaire responses to show you where you match/clash. Get
Matchbot to email you with details of new members that match your

Conclusion
I have to say when I first arrived at Love and Friends I was not
really very impressed because compared to some sites the design
and layout is somewhat basic and haphazard. I have however since
joining Love and Friends changed my mind completely.Love and Friends
is a great t UK site with all the features you need to meet people
and to get to know them online, before hopefully taking it further.
There is a very good selection of profiles in the UK, covering all
areas and age groups. The time taken to fill in the profile really
pays off because you can find out a lot more about a person from
their own words than all question and answer generated profiles.
All in all Love and Friends is a excellent dating site that appears
to have a very active selection of good quality profiles and features.
Best of all, the Free features are great, so why not give it a try.
